Default Wingless GT

What does everyone think of a wingless S197 GT? Considering removing my spoiler for a cleaner look. Does it only work with coupes? Convertibles? Certain colors? With certain mods?

Whats everyones opinion?

Also what do people get to fill in the holes? Is there a spoiler delete kit available for the S197?

There is a sport delete kit. Look at the s197 bulitt they're wingless. Personally I prefer some type of spoiler over nothing but that's just me and my obsession with the roush and saleen wing style

Removing the ridiculous GT stock wing and replacing it with a GT500 one was the single best appearance mod I did........best well spent $110 ever.

To each his own OP.....go for it.

Spoiler delete FTMFW!

I removed the wing, had the holes welded shut and repainted the trunk. Best mod I have done visually. There are several threads with temporary solutions out there using plugs and such but do it right the first time.

I like the looks of the rear wings on the S197's personally. That said, to each his own. Every car looks different in color and options, so do what you like to your Mustang.

Mine first came with the pony style flat spoiler. I changed to the pedestal style, only to change to the Shelby spoiler. My 70 Mach 1 had the pedestal style and loved it. My 70 Torino had the pedestal spoiler also. Looked great on that car. That's why I tried that style first. I liked it but the Shelby caught my eye. I like the smooth way it rounds out the back.

Well, it's an age old question here.. Some will like it wingless and some don't.
Personally, I don't..... love my Roush rear spoiler/wing

Not so sure about that bullit, but baker's car looks sick wingless. Probably it depends on the mods because with baker's tint, blackout panel and blacked out lights, it looks sick.

@rshustler1: Do you know where I can buy the delete kit? Don't see it on American Muscle.

Thanks

I agree, thought the same thing...

but without the blackout panel/dark lights, it looks pretty bad IMO. I guess some of the v6's dont have it so I instantly think its a base v6 when I see wingless. 16x7 wheels, no wing, and bone stock.. no thanks

I like no spoiler, but the gt500 spoiler looks good too. The stock spoiler is blah!
