40,000 miles since your last oil change?!?! Wow!!!

Lets see; based on a full synthetic oil change every 5,000 miles at aprox 79.99 per change. You saved about $640.

New engine $ 7300 OR MORE plus labor to install; your looking at over $ 12-13,000.

Remember the old Fram oil filter commercial? You can pay me now or pay me later.

Congrats you are a genius.

Since the OP's from Canada, we suspect it's 40,000 kilometers which equates to almost 25,000 miles. But he hasn't commented since his initial post so he's either too embarrassed or too busy trying to figure out other transportation.

Last year I went a year or so before changing the oil in my red 06 GT, but I had drove it all of 2-3K miles in that time.

I call BS on this whole thing.

I was going to say Troll, but I see the OP joined in 2011. 25K miles on the oil, and never even pulled the dipstick to keep a eye on the level. Hello this is basic car maintenance 101. Start looking for a new engine.

kerosene is the best way to clean out an engine, no water based crap.

I've put over 25k miles/year on my vehicles and that was just my work vehicle. We also put over 20k miles on the wifes/family sedan those same years so, yes, 25k miles in a year is very doable.

But not checking the oil in that time frame??? Total FAIL.

I just want to be part of the thread at this point but I'd like to say that earlier today I got really high and saw this post and started laughing so hard I almost pissed myself.
