40,000 miles/year on a Mustang?

At 40k miles per year AND assuming that the bulk of that is highway, I'd use a good full synthetic oil and hi-cap filter with changes at 10k-12k miles.
My last 2 tow vehicles were on a 10k mile oil change frequency with M1 oil and filter and they each racked up over 200k miles with no issues. And that was with boat and camper towing.

Hi!
I know that a Japanese 4 cylinders would be a better choice, but I don't want a car like that.
However, from your experience how practical is a Mustang if you have to do at least 40,000 miles per year (most in highways)?
And does the V6 or V8 have any specific advantages (e.g., one being more reliable than the other)?
Looking forward for your comments.
Thanks!

A prius or any other hybred's return on investment is in city driving. If the highway is where your driving, I'd pass on any hybred car. It is a trade off...how much $$$ are you willing to spend on gas based on how much time that your going to be in your car.

Well, I have an '06 GT with a little over 210,000 miles on it. Of course, it's nearly 60 miles to work, so, yeah, I drive a lot. Oh, just did the infamous spark plug change at 205,000 miles. Didn't develop the sight miss under load until around 200,000 miles. Not bad. ;-)

I have a couple of 'Stangs that are at 150k and both have been very reliable. The feel solid and I can see no reason I can't get another 50k out of both of them. The miles are a mix of highway and rush hour stop-n-go, Colorado 4 seasons. I just took one to a track day and it was perfectly smooth running flat out on the road course.
