Default Datalog + SCT Tuner + Bama

After putting my car on the dyno put out some decent numbers 419hp/398tq
I do have a bit of concerns about certain parts of the dyno pull and I looking at datalogging and send to Bama to have their opinion if this is normal or not.

attached is my dyno sheet, I am sure most of you can guess where my 3 concerns are but for those of you that cannot I shall tell ya

1. Dip in TQ between 2500-3000 RPM
2. Dip in HP & TQ at 3300-3400 RPM
3. Spike in HP & TQ at 5700-5800 RPM

From most of the forums I have read most tuners want to see the following in the datalog.
AFR Bank 1
AFR Bank 2
Labmse B1
Lambse B2
STFT B1
STFT B2
LTFT B1
LTFT B2
RPM
MAF Hz
Spark Advance
TP_absolute

my question is what conditions do they want it to be datalogged while driving?
Daily Driving of a typical day?
Drive it like i'm doing 1/4 or 1/8 runs?
Drive each gear to a set RPM?
and so on and so on I am sure you get the picture.

Also can all this be done through the SCT Tuner its self then loaded into LiveLink as I currently do not have a labtop.

Could you feel those dips when driving, or does acceleration feel smooth?

And I too would like more info on how to data log properly

Andy13186: Hard to say honestly, I don't pay attention much and rarely am I in a position when I need to accel hard like on a dyno pull except at the dragstrip and the only time i'm below 3k RPM is during my launch and I can feel it but always thought it was my lack of driver skill mod but after seeing the dyno pull graph it got me thinking..

I may just be a bit paranoid because it could be pure coincidence that where I thought I was failing at launching and slipping the clutch there happens to be a dip on the dyno graph.

Figured what harm could come from datalogging and sending to Bama just to verify no issues they may even feel due to the pressure/humidity/elevation that a small tweak may be in order.

Why don't you just call BAMA? 5 minutes on the phone and they can tell you exactly what they want to see.

As to the dips in HP & TRQ. I believe this is related to the Variable Valve Timing that exists in the Coyote 5.0 motors. When I am not driving under WOT I can feel the cams and powerband shift as I go up through the RPM range. Seems normal to me, but obviously the experts will tell you exactly what is going on.

For a couple reasons, Yes I could simply just phone them and I would solely be the one receiving the information of what they look for to be datalogged and under what driving conditions they want the data to be logged at.

But I figure why not be the friendly Canadian that I am and post it on the forums so that not only I would receive an answer but as you can see others as well have the same question and seek the same answer.

So not only do I and those people who are also interested in knowing this information receive this information and can refer back to it at a later date if need be but others who haven't spoken up whether it be because they afraid they might look stupid posting a question or maybe they are looking to get a tune for their vehicle and would like this information before hand in case they do run into a concern or problem.

no if you look closely (I need a better pic of the chart) you can see where the idle line is just below the 15 but when he does the dyno run it dips down in the 2k-3k RPM range down to like 11.x then levels off at 12.x throughout the run.

Probably the remap of the fuel occurring during acceleration and the variable valve timing changes.... CALL them (Bama)....

While your intentions are fine, all you are doing is creating speculation and conjecture. A better approach would be to have called them first, then post everything you did with their response.

A thread with the intention of being used for a reference is only good if there is a real solution provided, not confusion and uncertainty.

You made some really good power! 420RWHP/398RQTQ is definitely impressive and your A/F looks good.

It looks like there's room for a few adjustments down low on your tune, we can definitely work those bumps out. Please shoot me over a PM with your order number included and I'll get you in direct contact with a Bama tuning specialist! We will take a look at your datalogs and make the proper adjustments.

I would highly recommend tracking down a lap top to do your datalogging. This is the quickest and most efficient way of logging! However, you can datalog with the actual device. It's just doesn't log in real time like it will if you use a computer.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any questions or need some further assistance!
