Android Torque App Inaccuracy??
#12
yea, I figured what the hell like $20 for the ELM327 and then like $5 for the app so like $25 figured why the hell not, just figured with all the "reviews" and "comments" oh people using the ELM327 being so accurate why not give it a go but I just found it only useful for the PIDs.
I've come to basically figure out the TrackApps differential between it and what I am actually pulling just figured I would give the adapter/app a shot to see how it compared to what TrackApps feeds me

your track app thingy isn't going to be accurate if the tires spin and even then it's questionable for 0-60.
I've tried the dynolicious app on an ipod touch. the largest hp I've gotten is 388, but I've never done a full 1/4 mile run with it. Best 0-60 I could get was 4.7, but I wasn't hitting 60 in 2nd gear. I could hit 0-50 in 3.7 seconds. This is all with drag radials. If you think you are running 0-60 in 4.4 second with street tires, well, you probably aren't.
I also tried the ipod/dynolicious on my motorcycle with a secure mount and got 0-60 in 3.28, 1/4 mile 10.73@130 with a pathetic 2.35 60 foot time, but it showed my hp as 192. the bike dyno'd 130hp.

According to dynolivious ive ran a few sub 4.5 sec 0-60s with street tires on a good street, and yes hitting over 60 mph in 2nd gear, never have got below like 2.2-2.4 60 foot time though according to the app. It is the street though, cant expect too much i suppose.
For the bike, you have to enter a good correct weight of the bike + gas, rider and gear combo. The time and trap sounds pretty good there.

For the most part I have found TrackApps to be fairly accurate obviously not DEAD ON accurate but fairly close in some of its times but have found a few glitches with it but majority of the time TrackApps tells me I am running 13.0@112 which I have compared to Timeslips and it told me 13.0 on a 12.733@112 run and 12.86@112 run so it's approx. 0.2-0.3 off on the 1/4 mile depending how it rounds as it only figures to 1 decimal place. Granted on your typical average day the DA correction equates to 3200-3400ft above sea level and all runs have been on the stock Pirelli A/S.
As for the 0-60 with TrackApps it tells me 4.4-4.6 probably about 90% of the time the other 10% is me failing miserably on my launch then I crack into the 5s.
A guy on the Corvette forums has used created a spreadsheet you input your timeslip information and it calculates your 0-60 based on that information and has been tested with direct instrumentation on the vehicle and it accurate to 1-2 hundreths of a second gotta love engineers who are car guys and get bored lol
Based on his calculations my all-time best 0-60 on my 12.733 run was 4.43 and on my 12.86 run was a 4.46

now the funny part about TrackApps is if you reset your stats.. ONLY run 1/4mile runs then view your all-time bests it has claimed that my 0-30 is 2.3s but at the same time I have pulled a 0-60 of 2.3s LOL yet if you actually select 0-60 run I have never cracked anything better then a 4.4
When I do my 0-60 with my 245/45/19 and 93 Bama Tune the only way I reach 60mph in 2nd is if I WOT right to redline and just before hitting the limiter let off the throttle and coast otherwise I peg off the limiter or have to go into 3rd

what were your 60 foot times with the drag radials on the mustang according to dynolicious?
