Who bought theirs new and still own it?

Bought my 06 new 9/06. Intake/Tune, Tint, Steeda Ultralites, Panhard, Brace, D-specs, HD mounts, radio/speakers replaced, spoiler deleted, blackout panel on back, Boomtubes... First bought 18x8" ASA AR-1 wheels but this summer bought the Ford Racing Brembos with stainless steel lines and went with 18x9" TSW Nurburgrings.
28k miles, fuel pump replaced under warranty as well as A-pillar trim piece and shift ****. Only oil leak was a valve cover VCT grommet leak.
I sometimes think about selling it but only when I haven't driven it in a while. Once I get in and take her out I realize I could never sell it... Always something more I can do to it.

Great posts! Thanks for sharing your stories. Keep them coming!
Thanks bro!
No major problems or issues to report.
Replaced the battery twice which is about the normal typical life of them.
The only minor issue is just the upholstery on the both the driver and passenger side doors. They've started to peel off, but I read up on how to easy stick them back on.
As for oil leaks, none that I've noticed. The oil level pretty much stay stable whenever I check it. I use synthetic 5W-20 and change it every 5000 miles which is coming up soon.

Sick thread. I love to see some of you guys hanging in there with the OG s197. Took delivery of mine on 01-04-07 with 7 miles on her. I'm at almost 80,000 miles now and she's still a sexy bitch. Only real issue has been with the car killing batteries with the factory shaker 1000 unit. I switched the battery, alternator, and head unit out to aftermarket and it's been fine since. Also occasionally it will tell me that my driver door is ajar when it's not. Also when I re-tune or unplug the battery, the car takes way too long to re-learn idle trim and feels like it's going to stall for a day or two.
Other than that, solid car. I have well over 100 drag strip passes in it, 2 autocross seasons, and years of street nonsense/burnouts/drift sessions and the mechanical parts of the car are holding up excellently *knock on wood* Been running one of the original Bamachips tunes since 2008 with a JLT intake and 4.10's.
Just replaced the brakes with the new Brembos off a 2012 and noticed that the front pads were only worn about halfway. Those OEM pads on the regular brake cars are great for longevity and not dusting.
But yeah, I love this car, and s197's in general. Lots of good memories in this car. It gets compliments and/or looks every day. Everyone still thinks it's a new car. The guy at the tint shop last month wrote "2013 Ford Mustang" on the ticket LOL. Perks of taking proper care of it I guess. I have no plans of selling it ever. Looking to get a '15 or '16 5.0 to sit next to it in a few years though.

Bought my 07 mustang GT in September of 2007 and so far have put just over 122k on it. Did some Mods over the years. Took it on vacation 2 weeks ago and on the way home, engine started knocking and ended up with a destroyed engine. New crate engine is going in this week and I will be back on the road.....

I bought mine in 09, as a never titled car, dealer's wife drove in 08 and parked since. Warranty replaced one battery and no other issues. Just turned over 18k.
Mods so far is suspension and DOB blower. only thing I think I have left is a different drive shaft.

I bought my 2013 on Valentine's Day 2013, and she's still going strong all these...months...later
I test drove this very car in December, if I recall, and it was still on the lot in February. I stopped at the dealer that day only because some oblivious dumbass was poking along in a lane that was ending and I didn't want to be rude and cut in front of somebody, and there was the dealer lot, so I turned in and bought a Mustang.
Okay, I kinda knew that morning I was going to buy a Mustang, but I didn't decide to do so until I was right there in the wrong lane.
I bought my last car new and kept it 14 years. Put 170K miles on a 99 Taurus. It was a trouble-free car until the transmission started slipping, and I drove it like that for a year before chickening out and buying a new car.
I'm driving the Mustang less than the Taurus, so I expect I'll have it longer than 14 years.
