Default Adding Subs and Amp

I have a 2011 Mustang GT Premium with Shaker stereo. On the stereo it just says Shaker so I assume it's the Shaker 500? I don't have Nav, but I do have sync and steering wheel controls. Has anyone added any subs/amp to this stereo? I was doing some searching and found a PAC harness that I think would do the trick as far as being able to hook up an aftermarket amp. Here is the harness I found. http://www.pac-audio.com/productDeta...&CategoryID=28

Does anyone know if this will work or have you used it?

Thanks

Do you have the door subs? If you do you can add a line out converter from them(amp) for rca cables. It's what I did when I had the shaker.

So you just tied into one of the door subs to get the RCA's for the amp?

When I put mine in I used a line converter tapped off of the rear deck speakers and it works great. Get one of these :

just buy a wiring kit from your local electronics store. Got mine from fry's electonics. It was a pack of monster cables; power, ground, running wire, and rca's (which i didnt use). Hook it up through from your battery, find a ground, and your power source (antenna) splice wires from your rear speakers into the hi-lo of the amp. Have your wires from the amp connecting to the sub. I used some threads on here for help.
I used this for my wiring:

Heres more threads:

Hope this helps. Good luck.

Has anyone ever used a custom made sub box in their convertible? I'm looking at this one: http://www.zenclosures.com/2005-2013...ustconvert.htm but was wanting some feedback on it first. Where did you mount your amp? I was thinking about putting the amp where the spare tire goes. Does anyone have any ideas of where to put the amp? I am also toying with the idea of going with 2 of these sub boxes instead: http://www.zenclosures.com/2005-13-M...tconcorner.htm. Anyone use these? I'm curious as to which ones sound better with 2 10 in. subs?
