I have the two piece plugs in my '07 FX4 5.4 and my '08 GT 4.6, black boots .... and I have the Lisle tool if ever needed. If changed out soon enough (around 50-60K is my plan) with the right application of good mechanic sense, it's not so bad.

I agree. I wouldn't look at this issue as a deal breaker by any means. With a little patience, plug removal isn't so bad. I did mine at 75,000 without breaking one. I bought the Lisle tool beforehand just in case.

$17K with 38K miles sounds reasonable. As others have stated, start off around $15 and see where it goes. Good luck!

I've restored a lot of classic cars and I think it is always smart in the long run to pay a little extra for a car that has not been altered, modified or beat on in any way! It should be the top priority. Saving money on a car that has been messed with can come back to bite you. The car here in this post is an '08 GT and I have had zero problems with it even though it has a supercharger on it. Being an old guy I really prefer the '08 styling that is closer to the originals back in the day. The only thing I wish it had was the 5.0L engine. Good luck if you buy the car!
