Door liner came off, can't glue back...
So this summer the fake leather liner of the driver's door came off unglued. No matter how many times I tried to glue it back, it would not because the sponge like material beneath it is crumbling too. What should I do?

If that doesn't work because of the degraded backing, you should be able to replace the door trim entirely.

Yeah, that fix from the referenced thread only works for a little while. Been there, done that. The problem is that once the vinyl comes off the foam backing that disintegrates, it will shrink and expand causing the vinyl to keep coming off.
You can take it to a good upholstery shop. They'll charge about 100-200 bucks for both sides but it will look OEM.
The other option is to not use Vinyl but rather any cloth type material. Did that on our 06 escape after the door panels had similar issues, no more issues!

I fixed it once a long time ago, and it hasn't ever peeled again. The secret is to scrape off all of the old foam, and use the right glue. I used a metal brush to remove all of the old foam. I did it on the door side, and the fabric side to make sure that all of the old foam was gone. After I glued to two sides, I wedged a foam piece that I cut to the shape of the panel and wedged it between the seat, and door to hold pressure against the fake leather while it dried. To make sure that it dried completely, I let it stay there for the whole weekend.
It has stayed in place for a couple of years now.
I actually think it looks better than it did when it was new.
