Default GT Manual Trans - Clutch/Tranny Slop and Jerk

Hello,

I have a new 2014 Mustang GT with the lovely (sarcastic) MT82 tranny. I only have about 3k miles on it right now so she is still breaking in but I've noticed the clutch is getting more jerky and sloppy as I continue to break it in. I'm very easy on my car and it is a daily driver but I don't remember having this slop and jerk with my 2012 GT. Anyone else get this? It is usually noticeable when engaging/disengaging the clutch at low speeds (sub 1500 rpm) or when accelerating from from a low rpm/speed (again sub 1500 rpm). I'm just surprised this feels the way it does only after 3k miles.

Regards,

Cribby

Hello Cribby,

I’d like to get this escalated to the customer service manager for your area. Please, make an appointment with your dealer and PM me with your VIN, dealer, full name, mileage, and best daytime number.

I get some whine in 1st and 2nd but that is probably due to the gearing in my car (3.73s) .... 1st gear is so crazy short that I can start off in second gear from a dead stop if I wanted to.

I think this looseness is normal for 2013 / 14's

But....i've wondered if there is something i (or a shop) can change out to do away with all the play. Like a new manual trans and driveshaft?

And what would it cost?

sorry for the thread hijack.

Yeah I'm already planning on a Tremec swap in a few years because of the issues with the MT82s. I wonder is a new driveshaft (aluminum one-piece) like you stated might help.

My thoughts exactly unless some new better transmission comes along.
