You can open/close just fine in the event you lose battery power. Pull open carefully until the window gets past the trim. To close push in about an inch from the top of the glass to angle it up under the trim as you shut the door.
Ford designed enough flexibility in so we dont break the windows

And dang I missed that ban as well! Dude was a bit off though.
