Ok, so if I go to autozone so I can change them this weekend, is there a brand to stay away from?

All of the brands mentioned in this thread cannot be found at Autozone. They sell Duralast which for the most part is crap, unless you buy their top of the line brakes. Even then I would not risk it. I would recommend rockauto.com. They have great prices and name brands. If you have to go to the store, then go to Napa they have better brands than autozone.

Yeah, stay away from the "DIY store brand pads". Ask me how I know.

I've read good things about Akebono ceramic pads. That's what's going on my '06 GT 'vert soon, along with new Centric rotors.

I was really hoping to do these tomorrow. Which means ordering anything online not feasible. I thought my car did really well stopping with the stock pads. Do people have pad opinions on motorcraft brakes?

Also, Rockauto has a tone of choices, am I to assume everyone thinks all the brands they offer are good?

Thanks.

Good question. All of the brands that rock auto offers are not considered good. It sounds like you should just buy motor craft brand OEM brake pads and put them on. They are good quality and manufactured by ford. They are also mid range for price.

I'm using Hawk HPS... Stock pads are not that expensive and last a long time too... Just ordered new Ford OEM rotors from Amazon, free shipping... They are made in China though, lol.

I have the Hawk pads too. Cheaper than OEM and they do feel a bit better.
