Default RTR vs AMR wheels

Hello everyone,

I am in the market for new wheels. I have been looking for awhile and decided on charcoal 19in.
Now AM has sale on AMR AND RTR wheels. IS there any difference between them? from the pic on there website looks like RTR are "deeper" and kind of smoother??

RTR:

AMR:

Thanks

Pretty nice looking wheels, and the price is right!

The AMR comes in 8.5 and 10 inch widths. The RTR comes in at 9.5. Do you want staggered or do you want as wide as possible square setup?

I want the ride to be comfortable, doesnt have to be the widest setup. Also i am not going with staggered set up.
I am just wondering if there is an optical difference between those two wheels? from the pics looks like the RTR wheels look much better the AMR.

Well, the RTRs maybe do look a little nicer... they are also more expensive. Spend more money and you can find even nicer wheels. The question is if they are nice enough to pay twice as much (granted, neither of them are particularly expensive). Personally I like the AMRs enough and the price is a steal. Hell, they are basically disposable if one gets damaged, so I think that's what I'm going with.

Yeah man the RTR wheels look a little nicer, but I'm in the same boat as you. I'm going to end up going with the AMR's in charcoal as well.

For a square setup, the 8.5" AMR is going to have a very similar width (and ride) to the factory wheels and tires and may leave you wanting a wider tire if you have higher horsepower goals or track/performance intentions. The 10" will be a tight squeeze up front. The 9.5" RTR will fit front and rear and leaves you with some room to grow and will fill out the wheel wells a little better.

If appearance is the top priority, I think the staggered AMR setup looks best with a 295 or 305 tire in the back and 255 in front.

both are manufactured in China and cast wheels... So both are heavy and will add sprung weight to the vehicle....

however....

If you want a more planted and evenly wide stance back and front that will maximize the contact patch that contacts with the Tarmac..... the RTR's are a wiser choice.

Like someone else said price is king. What is your budget? I have staggered '20 AMR's on my '11 and love them. They are not my first choice, that goes to Vossen CV3's but at almost 3k for CV3's and tires there is not way I could swing that. I paid about 1200 for my AMRs and tires and am very happy with it. Something to keep in mind is that tires for '19s are expensive and the availability is not a great as 18's or 20's.

I plan on getting the AMRs for two reasons. The width and size available on the AMRs 18s and 10 inch wide available. Price. Plus I already have Nitto's on my AM Bullits and I'm trying to sell the rims so I can put the 18" tires on the AMRs.
