Default Ford Racing Aluminator 4.6 ??

What's the thoughts on the Ford Racing Aluminator 4.6? I'm going to be going forged and this did looked like a nice price but, I don't like the 8.7 compression. That's a drop of almost a full point over stock.

Lower compression is better for boost from what I've read.

Its all in the tune, I'm running 9.5:1 with 10 lbs of boost and I have had zero problems. It's the denotation thats the enemy. With the way they tune engine today the boundary of under 9:1 is no longer true. Is it safer, yes, is it necessary, nope.

That Aluminator doesn't exist anymore from FRPP, if there are any around its most likely N.O.S. so make sure you get a good deal. The block you're looking for is the M-6009-A46X it's a 5.0 stroker modular direct swap.

While there is some truth to your reasoning, there is an inversely proportional relationship between the AMOUNT of boost you can safely tune and compression ratio, and that relationship is exponential. How big do you ultimately want to go with a built motor? The ceiling is considerably higher with a low CR build and lots and lots of psi.

My goal is 600 HP at the wheels so, what ever boost that would translate too. I was thinking probably in the area of 15 - 20 lbs.
