My TPS is going out and I was just planning on doing it myself. Seems simple enough with just 2 bolts. I read on another site that you need a electric drill to get them out without stripping them. Is there any truth to this. Any other suggestions

I did it with a screwdriver and without actually knowing what I was doing before I started, it's been about 4 months now and still going strong. Only thing you need to be gentle with is the actual rotating sensor part.

So what I am reading a hand tool is safe. The drill is the danger when you start them.

The screws are short and they don't need to be torqued down at all really, and there's only two of them. A drill would be very unnecessary.

Perhaps an impact wrench? Or just hit the screwdriver with a 5 or 10 lb maul...

Seriously, a properly fitting screwdriver and a firm but light touch.
