from my understanding the actual Air intake manifold is restricted to a max flow. the only way to get more air in the actual chamber is forced induction. Cai just makes the air cooler supposedly witch helps the fuel burn better. i had a few cold air intakes that actually slowed me down.

I would start with the three basics. Exhaust, intake, chip. Simple bolt on additions that add power and actually improve gas mileage. And that's not true about the intake being proven at 6000rpm. A lot of manufactures that make intakes will post dyno sheets to prove the gains. If you look at those, with most of the applications, you will see a steady increase across the whole RPM range, not just peak. And the CAI doesn't just make the air colder, it increases the amount of air that the engine takes in. In some cases, these intakes can increase CFM (cubic feet per minute) by 150%. That number equates into power and fuel mileage increase. I hope that helps.

On a application like yours, the intake manifold isn't going to make a difference in this situation. You aren't going to be getting HUGE power out of your build unless you go with some sort of direct injection, and you will most likely have to switch out the manifold if you do that anyway. The factory manifold will handle the increase in air flow without any problems. You WILL see power gains by doing those three upgrades. I'm not here to bash anyone.
