I have had 000 problems with my 07. I love it and absolutely do not plan on getting rid of it. It currently has 90,000 miles on it and it still runs like new.

Do most of you guys do your own maintenance work?
Can good repair info be found on this site?
How difficult for me as a "shade tree" mechanic will it be for me to, for instance, work on the front end, if need be?
Thanks!

You may find a '08 with lower miles if you look long/far enough.

We bought a well cared for '08 GT with 2199 miles for not a lot more last June and soon
there'll be more on the lots as some trade "up" (?) for a '15. Just
be patient, take some time, look a lot.

When I look I visit car lots and look at those which most interest me, photograph them,
make notes, and go home and look it all over and cull those I don't want, keep possibles,
and keep looking until I find "the one".

Check the area where tha cabin air filter is. Theres a small rubber gromet on the bottom. If its clogged, water will build up and spill into your cabin. All you have to do is just push your fingers inside it and clear it out. You can access it with the hood raised. Its by the battery and down towards the right.

I drive an 07 v6 and just hit 111k. I took over payments about two years ago and ive only had to replace the ball joints, and thermostat housing. Recently replaced my pulley as well.

Do you do your own maintenance work? If so, are the 07's very difficult to get access, etc or easy to work on?

I have an '07 GT with 82,XXXmi on it. Runs like a champ. It's pretty much stock. I gave right at $14k for it last year. It's a DD. They made some improvements on the '08 models. If you can find an '08 or newer it would be the way to go. Good luck!

Minor stuff I do myself or enlist the help of my dad if needed to help guide me. Like brakes and pulleys and rotors, i did myself. As far when the thermostat housing and the ball joints going out, I took it to a shop and had them do it. I was spilling coolant everywhere when the housing went out. Get you a Chilton guide for the mustang. Its an awesome reference for working on the car. You can get them at the auto supply stores.

if you are looking at a GT the biggesst complaint is 2 piece plugs from 2005-early 2008 can be a bitch to change and break off in the heads.
