Default Can Ford Sync be added to Shaker?

I saw somebody selling a Ford Sync Bluetooth part that was supposed to be plug and play for the Shaker system. Was curious if it's possible to add this to an 07 with the Shaker? He had a disclaimer that it would not give you all the sync options, just the ability to answer the phone and talk. Does anybody know if this is true or not?

Also, he mentioned he had it in his 08, so I wasn't sure if it was compatible with an 07.

Thanks. Did you install it yourself?

I suppose it's possible, but I can't see how it'd be worth the hassle.

It's a manual that my wife is not very good at driving yet and she talks to her grandfather everyday with the phone in her lap on speaker. If the harness is already built for it then it wouldn't be much of a hassle at all. Very worth the "hassle" I'd say.

I would love this as well. Link to part if possible. How hard is the install?

If it's anything like hooking up an external aux jack on my '05 Shaker500 head-unit, it's probably very simple. If I remember correctly, you'll need to remove the cover for your center console, before you can begin removing the trim around the head-unit. This can all be done with basic hand tools.

A quicker and easier option you may want to consider would be something like the GoGroove FlexSmart X3 Blue-tooth FM Transmitter. I have an '07 and just bought one ($50 shipped); my bro-in-law recommended it, and I'm pretty impressed so far.

Not as nice as a factory unit, obviously, but pretty cheap and easy!

I went that route before I got my aux jack and it was a pain getting a frequency that worked throughout my commute. If you're okay with its imperfections, then it is a fast and cheap fix. But if you're like me and get annoyed by micromanaging it, then it'll eventually end up in the garbage and you'll go to the better quality, more involved, option.

it isn't. The Mustang didn't get SYNC until MY2009. the wiring isn't there and the other modules don't support it.
