Default Front bumper got scratched... costs to fix?

well, someone apparently clipped my front bumper this morning and i was wondering what it could possibly cost to have it repainted.

there are two scratches, both are about 1/4 inch thick, but the top one is about 2 inches long and the bottom about 4 inches. both went down to the plastic and might have sheared some of the plastic off too; the bottom one is rough.

i'll probably use touchup paint for now, but what do you all think it would run me to have it repaired, since a big chunk will need sanded down and the possibility some needed... this could be a good excuse to upgrade to a different bumper though

My front bumper was hit while my car was parked. There were a few dents and a few scratches. The cost to repair was $760.03.

I don't think it will be cheap. you may be better off sourcing a pre-painted take-off bumper cover.

Ask your dealer to have his touch up guy do it. Most of them have mobile guy that comes in once a week to work on their used inventory. That shouldn't cost you more than $125. And it'll be perfect.

the dealer closest to me is notorious for ripping people off when it comes to body work, but i'll still see what they have to say. depending on the price, i may end up looking for a take-off

what ticks me off the most was that, due to ice, this was the first time i've had it out in 2 weeks :/

My local painter does a bumper for $250.....and that is a sweet job all the way around. That was a quote for the front of my '02 GT.

I had the paint on my rear bumper on my 2014 GT damaged the day I bought the car by the dealer guy who cleaned up the car and it cost the dealer $425 from their contracted body shop. My body shop quoted me $493 and a Ford dealer that has their own body shop quoted me $525.

This was removing the bumper, sanding it down, repainting and reclearing and installing the bumper.

I was finally able to get it checked by a body shop and their quote was $490. I think I'm just going to touch it up myself then save up for an aftermarket a little ways down the road

Thanks for the input guys! Appreciate it
