2010 Mustang GT Manual - Long Tube Headers
I'm not trying to come off rude by any mean...
I have searched all over here on "Long Tube Headers" alone.. I started to read posts about headers and the replies started going completely off topic. I'm looking for solid results on LT header with x or h, o/r mids.. I know, Kooks is the easiest answer because of their quality and precision but I don't have $1200+ to drop on them... I have heard both good and bad on all the other LTH's but for 2010 GT owners or true experienced techs, does anyone have solid results on Pypes, BBK or JBA? Good, bad or otherwise?
Nothing special yet but my current specs;
PROTON PLUS NITROUS SYSTEM (100 Shot)
NGK Iridium IX Spark Plugs 7554 (colder for ^)
Borla Cat Back Atak Exhaust
Hot Rod Racing Cams (Tuned)
Airaid Race Cold Air Intake (Tuned)
Bama SF3/X3 Power Flash Tuner (Currently a paper weight)
Any input will greatly help my deciding factor in the next few days.

Bassani Ceramic - 17.39 gain
BBK - 17.39 gain
JBA - 17.82 gain
Kooks - 23.59 gain
MAC's - 22.52 gain

Can't tell you exact numbers, but I have the BBK's with their catted X and I felt really solid gains with my tune. However they were a complete nasty b**ch to get in. Maybe it was just my luck but I kept running into problems, like how my xpipe wa completely out of line and had to bend it with a torch myself.

We sell a ton of Kooks, BBK, MAC, and Pypes LT headers. For the price and quality, I've always liked BBK & MAC the most, but that's just my personal preference. BBK, Pypes, and MAC all make a solid product with good overall gains. Especially if your Mustang is a daily driver or weekend cruiser.
With that being said, my main focus has always been all out performance. Kooks simply can't be beat and is worth the extra cost IMO. I've never settled with just bolt-on mods though. I've always added a stroker kit or boost or both down the road. Having that in mind, the Kooks really shined for those all out builds. Which is what made it worth the extra cost to me at least.
My opinion is to decide what your overall plans are the the car. If you have 700hp in mind somewhere down the road, than I'd save for the Kooks. If you plan on DD'ing the car or just cruising on the weekends, than a budget set of headers can't be beat!
