Mustang GT and ride quality
Hi, Iīm planning to get myself a Mustang GT.
I once owned a 2012 BMW M3 (19 inch wheels, front 245/35 and rear 265/35 tire sizes), but sold it cause I couldnīt stand its harsh ride on the roads with poor surface around where I live. On uneven stone paved roads the ride was so bumpy I fell I would be thrown out of the car.
Thatīs where my doubt lies. Would a 2013/2014 Mustang GT (especially on 18" wheels) offer a better ride than the M3?
Thanks in advance.

Comparing apples to oranges- have a bmw 335i 2wd coupe in the family with the same size rims and tires that I've driven for thousands of miles and a buddy with an 08 m3 4-door, have yet to be thrown out of either one.....

I've never driven that model M3, but I can't complain about the ride on my '12 GT. Certainly a lot more pleasant than the SRT-4 I had, that thing would rattle your kidneys loose.
Though you will notice a difference with that live axle clomping around back there.

I love the ride quality.. of course I've never had the pleasure of driving $70,000 foreign cars so idk how they compare to that. I have driven some cheaper "performance" cars and they ride like a go-cart, the stang does not.

I understand "ride quality" is a subjective feel. That's exactly why I need feedback on this comparison (M3 vs GT), cause the M3 is the only reference I have.
Unfortunately I canīt test drive a Mustang, since there are no units available around here.

An M3 feels FAR stiffer than the ride on a GT Mustang. Part of it is the suspension, but part is also the steering. The steering is alot tighter on the M3, so the road feedback can be almost "harsh" at times on the BMW. Couple that with the stiffness of run flat tires, and it is very rough by comparison.
The Mustang is no luxury ride on rough roads either, but far more gentle than the M3.

Actually the M3 tires are not runflat.
And I will probably go for 18" wheels on the GT, that will provide a better ride, right?

All I know is the GT's ride quality is fantastic for what it is. Tons better than the Camaro (disclosure - I own a 2010 Camaro also). It's extremely comfortable. Drove 1650 miles in it a few months ago. Did it in 32 hours and no back or butt issues.
