I don't drive in stop & go traffic every day so I'm biased toward the manual.

Although, if I had to do stop & go BS every day I'd probably want to shoot myself regardless of transmission choice, I hate traffic.

If the traffic is at least moving you can almost just creep along in first with the granny low first gear they give you in these cars...

I enjoy the interaction with the car that a manual gives you. That's just me though.

I say go for the manual. I drive in stop/go all the time, still wouldn't convince me to get an auto. Good luck!

My buddy has let me borrow his 6 speed maro for a few days, I like the stick a lot it's fun and interactive and it makes you pay attention to the road! But the complaints I have heard about them scare me a bit

Auto is just fun to mash and go sometimes tho and not have to worry about missing gears or anything!

Thanks for all the response! Really appreciate it!

+1 for Manuals. I spent the first 11 years of my life behind the wheel of slushboxes, and the next 11 were all manuals. I won't go back. I drive in rush hour traffic, I drive highway, I drive out to my cottage on weekends and there's some great tight windy roads out there, but I couldn't enjoy those roads in an auto, even a sport-mode auto. In all types of driving I just find a stick to be more involving. Makes the actual drive itself a man-and-machine experience...even just driving to work. That said, I've heard the autos in the Mustang are actually very good...for an auto.

I just ordered a 14 GT Track Pack as well, good choice, and good luck with whatever you choose!

Why buy a mustang GT and not get a manual?
That's like riding a jetski with a learners key.

Old farts buy autos, oh, and you lose a big chunk of the "bad *** factor."

manual for me, makes driving a bit artistic

auto is easier on the rest of the drivetrain though, can be faster in the 1/4 mile, never miss a shift, and can handle more HP, never need to replace a clutch, easier to get traction and alot better in traffic

with manual you can do what you want, but you have to do it
