Default Light Bar

Did anyone install their own? I would love to add one I am just worried about the install. The idea of taking a hole saw to my car is scary.

People who do have on did you go for the one with the light or no light? What was you resoning and are you happy with your decision?

Thanks All!

keep in mind it's just a hole saw to two interior panels, no body cutting. i've been on the fence about it for almost two years now.

What is a light bar?

the only thing that comes to mind is the things on top of police cars, and it ain't exactly legal to use one.

why would you have a light bar with no light? This thread confuses me.

It's for convertibles and looks like a rollbar, but isn't a structural part of the car. It's called a light bar because it has a rear-facing brake light on it. In southern states, you can also mount off-road lights to it, but that interferes with the convertible top (if you're concerned about that kind of thing).

DivaDanielle yeah I've liked them for years too. I think they really set off a convertable. My issue is drilling the two holes. I am not sure if they come with a template or not. My other issue is do I order one with a light or just the style bar?

It says it comes with a template in the instructions, here: http://www.americanmuscle.com/05-07-...r-install.html

As for which to get, that's up to you to decide!

Edit: But would one with a light glow inside the car every time you hit the brakes with the top up? That would **** me off, haha.

they go off a switch that ties to the convertible top, so it only lights up when the top is down.

according to my spouse, I'll be getting one soon, so I found out today, i have no choice on the matter, and she finally came around to like them.

I like the looks but for us old folks, it does interfere with any back seat usage. Dropping the top makes getting in the rear seat much easier, being it a passenger or shopping bags. Maybe one you could pull a pin and pivot it up.
