Default Burning metal smell.

Hello!

Owner of a 2008 Mustang coupe.

So, recently I smelled a "hot, burning metal" smell when I drove uphill. Also, I began to lose power. I took it to the dealership, and they put in a new clutch.

So, after taking it home, I drove it uphill again . . . and while I didn't have any issues about losing power, I still smelled that burning metal smell.

Help! Any ideas about what to do?

Sure it's the clutch? Are you resting your foot on it just a little while driving?!

This might be a stupid question, but do you have good oil in it?

drewsky-- Just had the clutch replaced, and I learned long ago not to put my foot near the clutch pedal when I drive. :-)

whosniffedme -- Yep; I trust the place where I get my oil.

Any other recent work? New exhaust components can smell. But if it's the new clutch then something needs adjusting.

You may smell burning clutch or brake lining, paint, oil, grease, adhesive for labels, plastic, rubber, coolant, ....

.... but metal?
