OP your getting hammered here for ignoring the leaking water pump and continuing to drive it. Of course your car is gonna run like sh#t when it has that problem. If your unwilling to fix it yourself find another shop. Dealers usually will be the most expensive place to get repairs done.

No offense. But you need to do the repairs as they pop up. Your car needs some work. I would not drive it until it has all been fixed. Whatever shop told you there were no leaks were full of crap. The A/C system is a completely closed system, if the A/C stops working, then SOMETHING needs to be repaired.

If you have an overheating issue again, roll down the windows and turn the heat on full blast (without using the a/c compressor to dehumidify)

You don't have to take it to Ford, but take it to a GOOD shop with a good reputation and get those issues fixed.

Side Note: When your car reaches hot/hot you are risking major engine failure, warped heads, blown gaskets, etc.

I think you need a minimum number of posts before the edit button appears, but I don't know what that minimum number is.

Edit: Or maybe a Camaro ate the button.

if you keep having to top up the a/c all the time then its leaking! you should have changed the water pump when you knew it was leaking! 1200 bucks from the dealer is insane but would had checked some were else! a water pump is cheap to replace! hope you didn't damage the cylinder heads or gasket or damage the block! those parts are not cheap!

UPDATE:

Took it to a different shop and they just called me back. Said it is a cracked thermostat and that would explain the loss of radiator fluid. They also said my oil is gunky and low. Their mechanic recommended an oil change before proceeding with the thermostat replacement.

It is weird because I had the oil changed 8 months ago with royal purple synthetic. So it should still be good to go.

Anyways, their price with the oil change is $546. I told them that was way to high blah blah and they said without the oil change it would be $480.

So I know the thermostat is a common issue because this has happened before but it was under warranty at the time.

Is the price of $480 correct? Could I do this fix myself?

Question is, would you fix it yourself? Given how long some of these problems have been going on, just bite the bullet and get it/them fixed before your car goes out of commission for a blown head gasket or worse, toasted engine.

A good a/c system can go for many years without topping off. They either didn't check it thoroughly with the dye, or it is a very small leak. Another possibility is if the system has a bad/weak high pressure relief valve it could puke out refeigerant.

An oil change after 8 months? How many miles between changes? Don't let your oil become sludge, even if you have to change it more. It is worth whatever you need to spend.
