What's the deal with the cold air intakes?

The biggest problem with the aftermarket CAI is that a lot of them are metal. then it doesn't matter where the air is coming from as its flowing thru this convection oven into the engine.

Very few CAI are composite.

1991 2.3L I4
1996 3.8L V6
2000 3.8L V6
2008 4.6L V8
