Took the plunge today guys and bought a Coyote. Couldn't find a track pack or recaros anywhere nearby and I didn't feel comfortable ordering the car without test driving one with those options first. Found a very nice 14 GT Premium in Ruby Red Metallic (400A I believe) w/ black interior, 3.73, the pedestal spoiler, and the 19" black and silver shoes. Had 12 miles on her before the test drive. Manual. She's beautiful and I feel like I am 16 with my first love again. The coyote rumble might be better than certain adult acts. And I got her for a steal.

I am very happy with the car. It has so much power I literally feel no desire for engine mods whatsoever. Seriously- compared to my old 09 V6 its an absolute monster with 2x the power. The car really commands respect from the driver in the sense that I could floor the old pony and she's gain speed respectably but nothing too dramatic. I know that flooring the coyote is taking my life in my own hands. That said, a MGW and some axlebacks are probs in the future. Throws are too long and the car is too quiet.

I know, I know, I will upload pics tomorrow.

I loved my 09 with all my heart, and believe it or not I actually prefer much of the styling on the 05-09 cars. The front end of the 14 looksa little better, but IMO the tail of the 09's was perfect. The only thing i'd take from the 14s tail is the lights. But I liked the square rear rather than the rounded.

Where the 14 really blows the 09 out of the water is power and the interior. I loved the 09, but I always felt as if parts of the interior were cheap and tacky due to the excessive use of plastic- notably the dash. The interior of the 14 is not perfect but its much more refined and uses higher quality materials, giving the interior feel of cars costing tens of thousands of dollars more.

Given I made the transition from the V6 to the V8, but the power is unbelievable. My Dad is a mustang buff too and he has an 08 Saleen S281 SC, and that car is a veritable monster. But if I had to choose between the supercharged 4.6 and the NA 5.0, I would still go for the 5.0. My experience with the 4.0 and 4.6 was that they both felt as if they are under strain constantly. The Coyote is a big powerful engine and even at 5000 RPM the sensation- to me- me is a big, comfy engine. It doesn't strain whatsoever. I am not knocking the 4.0 or the 4.6 in any way- I owned a 4.0 and loved it. The Coyote just feels "Comfortable" if that makes any sense.

Fact: Last week I drove an Aston V12 Vantage coupe. Given the choice between the two cars, assuming price was not a factor, I would still take the Coyote every day.

There's no doubt that the 2014 5.0 is a great machine. In my opinion, a few well chosen mods can greatly improve it with a minimal investment. Tire upgrades (when the time comes), UPR Lower Control Arms, Shocks and springs, etc.

Congrats on your new Pony.

Now you need to update your profile to show that you have that and not the V6.

Congratulations! Never say never on the mods. I thought that about my 2010. Bought it January 2012, had new axlebacks on it by April, haha. Now I continue to tastefully mod it here and there.
