Default Tranny flush by dealer was nightmare

Good evening folks , I have a little story for you guys just want to see what you guys think and if my tranny is still good ?

I booked a tranny flush about 3 days ago in my local town and I had it done I picked up my car and had to be to work that morning. It was a 170 kilometres and things were acting weird like I was reving up to 3-4 thousand while In 2nd , at stop lights it would kind of make a jerk feeling so I didn't clue in till I almost got there and am like this feels horrible compare to when I brought my car to the dealership . I booked another dealer to look at the car and they had to ADD 2 LITRES of oil !!!! So I called them and bitched them out ! Should I make a letter contract that guarantees my tranny for next 30 k or what should I do is my tranny perfectly fine just unsure what to think ... Worst experience ever !!!

Thanks Chris

1 - I thought the trannies were sealed on the Mustangs?

2 - My Tahoe has about 200,000 miles on it. Mechanic advised to not flush the transmission as it might cause problems and failure as the tranny hadn't been flushed in about 80K miles. Backed up by on line research.

Auto or manual trans?

What dealers did you go to? Are you close to Milton?

When I had my 2005 automatic, I was very hesitant about getting my trans serviced at a dealer, after hearing about all the horror stories. I asked the local mustang shop (Steeda) about it and they said they didn't do the service, for whatever their reason, I don't remember. HOWEVER, they got me in contact with the Ford dealership next door, Gallinger Ford (Milton, ON). They strongly and strictly recommended a tech named Ram, to work on the vehicle. I set up an appointment and made sure Ram was the guy working on my car. He did a flawless job, and even said that at ~170,000 kms the fluid still looked pretty good. I will say I didn't notice a difference after but the piece of mind of having it done, problem free, was satisfaction enough for me.

Cant really offer any advice on your situation, but if you have any more problems with your trans talk to Ram @ Gallinger Ford 905-875-3673. Good luck

I would get it documented and talk with Ford. They need to know about the poor service from the dealer. Some leg work now, may save you bucks later on.
I have the tranny flushed every 30,000 miles on my 08 automatic and will continue to do so.
From what I have read, if you have a high mileage car, and its never had the tranny fluid replaced, or flushed, don't do it.

Yeah, +1...if you got higher mileage, do not flush it...but, do change the filter and fluid.

The trans is "sealed" (i.e., no dipstick), but you still have to fill it to the proper level after a fluid change, and it's not hard to do that. An overfill or underfill is just poor workmanship.

Hope you get it resolved, as running it that low could have caused some premature wear and may shorten the life of your trans.

Yes the tranny is 'sealed' on the 05+ stangs but that doesn't mean they should never be flushed. Tranny fluid has a life cycle and heat and dirt from the wearing of the bands wears it out.

A proper flush is done with a Rotunda machine every 30K. The machine reverse flushes everything and replaces the fluid in the converter at the same time.

Never had any issues with my dealer although I did have two other dealers I went through before finding my current one.
