as it turns out when you have a mortgage on a 500k house, and other bills, student loans, etc. you just might need to take a loan out for a new car.

I don't think I've ever known anyone ever that *legitly* bought a new car over 40k in straight cash that didn't have some odd circumstance that they just had that kind of money laying around.

Granted most people have savings for if something bad happened and somebody lost a job, etc. Heck my medication alone would be over 10k a month if I didn't have insurance.

If you are not paying a mortage, and have no bills that you're totally netzero and can put away 40k and not save forever, that's awesome though, and you're obviously living in a way that's allowing you to have a great life.

My cars are paid off except my truck that I just bought. I had the money to pay for it in cash but I got zero percent for three years so that is actually the way to go
