High pitched whistle at 2000 rpm
Hello! I've discovered a strange noise. When my driver's side window is down, I can hear a very high pitched whistle or squealing just around 2000 rpm. It's easy to confuse with the sound of other car's brakes squeaking, but I confirmed that is not what I am hearing. Could this be related to my cold air intake? I installed an aftermarket intake and throttle body about a year ago.

Is it the windshield? I had an f250 that had an high pitch noise coming from outside while traveling at certain highway speeds. Took it to the dealer and they found it coming from the windshield. i was missing some adhesive/weather stripping that when the wind would hit it at a certain speed would make a whistling noise.

What possible repercussions would result if I let it go to long?

Thanks. If it is the intake, any ideas where? I tried tightening the hose clamp that holds the filter on, as well as the hose clamp that attaches to the throttle body. No change in whistle. Could there be a hole somewhere that could cause this?

You should notice hesistation in motor if its really bad..Just ensure the injectors are seated firmly in place. I checked a few other sites that claimed they can be knocked loose easly..And do whistle if there loose...Also check the vaccum lines, another whistle maker in the engine bay...Hopefully something easy as this is your culprit....
