Default Saleen S/C Theorycrafting

I know a guy with a S-281E and from what I hear he swapped the saleen s/c for an edelbrock e-force stage 3 kit trying to hit 1200 RWHP. Now I don't know for a fact but I think he may still have the saleen s/c sitting around his shop. What would I potentially need besides a fuel pump upgrade, bigger injectors, and a tune? I am assuming I can get it with the stock intercooler as the e-force stage 3 kits come with it's own intercooler, if not then throw in the intercooler to the list.

On an 09? New manifold without the butterfly valves or remove yours since they are integrated into the manifold. Come to think of it I think you mentioned that to me in a different thread?! New CAI and...?

Older article from 2005 with an install overview.

Also, depending on the year of the kit it in question, it may or may not fit directly on your car. 05-06 Mustangs had one type of cooling routing while 07+ had a different one. Newer S/C kits from most other mfgs require people to upgrade the cooling on an 05-06 to that of a 07+. For some reason, interwebs info on Saleen has mixed information...Some say 07+ cars must downgrade to 05-06 cooling and other say 05-06 cars must upgrade to 07+ cooling.

Contact Brenspeed or talk to your buddy to have them clear that up.

He's out of town atm which is why I am just thinking about it. If I had to guess, it's going to come with a new manifold as the kit from web vendors comes with the manifold. I seriously doubt the e-force tuner kit used the saleen manifold with the edelbrock blower but who knows. I'll have to figure out what year 281E it is.

The Saleen s/c and manifold are integrated together. I would assume they would of removed all the Saleen parts because besides the HE, most of it wont work with the e force. The basic Saleen s/c kit is the same for 2005 thru 2009. The E cars came with a smaller pulley, fuel pump upgrade, different CAI, larger fanned heat exchanger. You'll probably need a larger pulley since the E cars have a built motor.

Yeah that was the one thing I figured, I don't wanna push as much boost as a stock 281E until I build the motor.

No Saleen S/C for me =(. Buddy said the inner cooler flange broke and got tangled up with the screws, not even worth rebuilding.
