Default 2013 Mustang GT clutch question

hey guys, so tomorrow my 06' mustang gt goes bye bye and I come home with a 2013 Mustang GT. The car has 9k miles and has the brembo brakes. It is cloth interior but I can always swap that out with katzkin leather down the road.

My question is, for those with the MT82 (that is the manual trans for these cars right?) when does your clutch start to engage. My dad comes from the old school days where a clutch starts to engage as soon as you start to let off the clutch. Where in this car the clutch doesn't engage until about 30-40% off the floor. I can't see the clutch being wore out with only 9K miles. Heck the original tires on the back still look really good. So I don't think the owner really ragged on the car. So is this the way it is supposed to be? thanks guys.

my 2012 is the same way. you can't compare take-up points of two completely different vehicles.

I love the clutch in these cars , never have had to adjust it or anything. Im not even sure if thats possible with these hydraulic clutches. Mine enguages at the right spot imo which is around the middle of pedal travel.

This car has a much better clutch than my previous Lexus IS300. That car had inconsistent engagement points and would tend to chatter/shudder, especially when cold. Very difficult to shift smoothly. I love driving my Mustang, particularly with the MGW shifter and Blowfish shifter bracket.

That sounds about normal for the clutch, and have fun with the car!

Thanks guys, sounds like it's normal. I got the car and started getting some seat time. This is my first manual and I have been loving every second of it. I still have yet to stall the car (knock on wood). I pick things up pretty quick and being a car guy I had a pretty good idea of how to drive a stick, I just need seat time to practice.

Car guy and didn't know how to drive a stick? well I'm glad you finally learned!
And I still stall the car every once in a while if I forget what I'm doing... been driving sticks for 12 years too.
Like I said, have fun! don't break anything

same here. the funny thing is, my '12 GT is easier for me to stall than my '04 SRT-4 was
