I'm not so sure about that. If I understand correctly, the wires would be together forming a parallel circuit. Current will be divided between the two wires, but the amount in each lead will vary based on the resistance of the lead and its associated connectors. If you do end up running both leads, make sure all the connections are very clean.

I think I'm just going to use the new PA wire, not both. If something doesn't work, I'll do a re-think.

That's what I did. Zero issues.

Default Tis" Done!

Installed PA Alternator and Power Wire Kit. Pretty easy install. Cleaned TB at the same time. Everything seems to be working fine. No strange noises. Now, to see if the CEL stays dark.
Thanks for all the advice.

Default PA Alternator-Happy Dance

Well, it's been a week now with no CEL-I am convinced now it was definitely the alternator that was causing the P0340 code. No problems running the std. type pulley instead of the clutch. Pretty happy with the way it all worked out. The Power Wire kit was an easy install too.

I called both PA and American Muscle. PA said they recommend using both wires, American Muscle said to just use the performance wire. Great. That really clears things up.
AM is correct.
While it's unlikely that running two parallel wires, grounded at the same point on one end and connected to the same positive point on the other, will cause a problem, it's considered a huge error in design. By using two wires you form an antenna where the resonance frequency is unknown. In an entirely DC environment this is usually not a problem, but with all of the RF and pulsed currents in a new car, it is possible that you will create an intermittent problem that will be nearly impossible to track down.
