Default So apparently 2013 GT tail lights/backup has no access to bulbs?

Is there a way to access the led bulbs in the tail lights in the 2013 Mustang GT?

I opened trunk, started on the left tail light first, removed the black thumb tightening screw to gain access to the 3 other nuts (using 11mm wrench) behind the plastic, then pops out the tail light assembly. However, there is zero access to the bulbs and the entire assembly must be replaced. Is this true or am I missing something here? Thanks!

I have read it is modular so if something goes bad you have to replace the whole thing. Very expensive too.

Yes it is expensive! That's a bummer! Although they are all led's from the factory they can go bad and I wanted to put in brighter led's, guess that won't be happening now.

that was pretty funny lol, i suppose ford sealed it off since 1 those led's will likely go out at 100k and beyond/never, they are vastly superior to incandescent of course you knew that and my car is well under warranty so it wouldn't cost me anything to fix it and by the time they do go out those taillights will be way cheaper since it is new its expensive.

Very good points. There have been some isolated failures, as expected, but for the most part these tail lights should give years of use.
