Default What do you have for headlights?

I've been wanting to do some upgrade to my headlight for a while, mainly to get a more modern look. I thought about HIDs but didn't want to put HIDs in my reflector housing, and personally I love my stock housing and don't want to get rid of it. (I looked at a few projector housings, but you pretty much HAVE to get HIds with them because ie: a couple in AM use h9 bulbs but it can be a pain to find dual filament h9 bulbs so lot of people end up trying to use single filament and it can be a hassle.

I like the stock h13 bulb size and wanted to try the sylvania zXe. I haven't founda nyone who made a video of them but I ended recording one and decided to share it. I'm quite satisfied with how they look, what do you guys think?

When its completely dark they look white, however if the sun is up even a little bit they seem to have a yellow tint to them, but idk if that's just the sunlight reflecting on the housing.

My 2010 has the stock halogen which work pretty damn well. My 2013 has the HIDs which also work pretty damn well.

I don't see any need to mess with the 2010's halogens, but if you do then I hope you find what you are seeking.

Thank you.

My car has the factory HIDs. I think a couple people here (TheDivaDanielle?) have refit their cars with the factory parts.

If you don't want to go with HIDs, you might try Sylvania Silver Star Ultras or GE Night Hawks. High Performance bulbs (except for HIDs) don't live as long as regular halogens.

I'm in the same boat as OP. I have the zXe's. They are better than stock, but I still want a more modern look. I want HIDs but I'm not about to turn my headlights into some ratchet *** janky looking **** that runs oncoming drivers off the road. All the projector setups on the 05-09 are uglier than sin. There are a grand total of 0 good looking aftermarket headlight options... the only thing that looks good are the factory or Saleen HIDs, and an occasional very well done retrofit. Most of them are ugly and make the car look googley-eyed though.

I tried the $80 Cree LED H13 headlight bulbs too. The color on them is perfect, and they don't glare too bad, but you can't see **** with them. They claim there is a high beam, but there is absolutely no difference when you flick on the highs.

careful there- those H13s may use Cree diodes, but the bulb assemblies are made by who knows. As far as I know Cree doesn't make any automotive bulbs.

and the problem with those is going to be the same as trying to put HID capsules in there; the light source is in the wrong place for the reflector so the beam pattern and diffraction will be all f***ed up.

07blackgt said it......just about every aftermarket option blows. Projectors are absolutey hideous. The only one I kinda sorta like is the AM Halos but not enough to buy them. I just went with upgraded sylvania bulbs which did make a nice improvement.

Sylvania Silverstar Ultras are a nice bulb. Only negative, pricey and short life.
I've read good things about GE Night Hawks, but have never seen them on sale anywhere.

I had a retrofit HID kit installed in my stock headlights (basically got a deal I couldn't refuse when having some bodywork done on the car), it's go high/low beams. also had some yellow HIDs put in my fog lamps.
You could probably PM the diode dynamics guy here to see if their kit is pretty much plug and play with your existing headlight housing.
