Default Which Tuner to buy

Hey All,

I'm in need of a Tuner and don't have a clue which to buy. I have a 2005 GT convt. I have a cold air intake, off road X-pipe and want to add 410 gears. As of today I have error coded since I added my X pipe.

My car is not a daily driver but rather a summer time joy ride. I'm looking for the best drivable tune with safe max HP. I like the heavy foot.

Currently have an older model supertuner tuner which does not allow me to add parts and get ride of the H-pipe error code. It only has a stock tune and performance tune. I have it on the performance setting but have noticed a miss at high rpm when I'm on it. I think it is a fuel octane issue tied to the tune?????

Thanks for all comments

I believe, the sct tuners are the most commonly used for these cars.
Doesn't matter where its from as they are mostly the same with only slight variations with the individual retailers tunes installed.

I recently upgraded from an SCT X3 to an X4 and am really pleased with it. It's straight forward and super easy to use

sct x4 or any of the basic handheld models (x2 x3 x4)

i have had dealings with the bluetooth version or any of the livewire ones and it worked just fine, that being said ive ran into some where they just would not work...

..needless to say you cant go wrong with the base models and as far as tuning there the exact same!

I run the SCT Livewire, which I bought from AM with the lifetime updates. I also looked at Diablo but after reading reviews on various forums I decided to go SCT (personal preference).

Sct x4. Don't bother with any other brand or item. Bama is a great choice too. Brenspeed is another good option.

+1 on Bama or Brenspeed. They write superb tunes and the SCT line is the way to go.
