How about this, just change out ur mufflers with some aftermarket chambered mufflers and see how u like the tone and go from there. it may be all ur looking for. no power but it may satisfy u. If u get a good set, i can guarantee a smile on ur face everytime u start ur car.

Yes u can do that. but make sure the midpipe is designed to fit with the LT headers. there is a difference...for example

One set is longer and the other is shorter. this is because the LT headers take up more room and less of a midpipe is needed because the headers come down so far.

this piece has the cats and fits LT headers. ur midpipe will be pricey (like this) if u r wanting to keep the cats. offroad pipes without cats r cheaper. for comparison:
