Short shifter, which is best?

I'm surprised your Hurst has made it 5 years AND you're still happy. The bottom dust seal was completely destroyed on mine after 2 years, and by 3 years it was rattling and had a bunch of slop in the pivot ball.
The Tri-Ax will take some getting used to but I'm glad I made the switch.

I'm searching as well.. I won't reinstall the factory shifter...

The 2 Allen screws are most likely loose. Mine loosened up once over the years and moved front to back like slop. Check it out and use locktite if that's the case

When I got my 05 used in 2007 one of the first things I did was install a Hurst shifter and I never regretted it. I greased it and used lock washers and the rattle issue stayed away. It is notchy but that is something I can live with. My friend has a MGW and it feels way tighter but the shift seems a little longer and lets be honest the classic look of a hurst shifter is priceless. Just my 2 cents.
