ok but just to be clear the code should come back if the problem persist correct? i just don't want to clear a code and the problem is still there. also should the engine light turn off by it self if the problem is corrected? or does clearing the DTC a must whenever you fix the problem.

The light will turn off once the code is cleared.

Yes the code and light will return if the problem is still there. It will take some driving though for the problem to reoccur if it is still a problem.

If the light came on 6 months AFTER the tune, the tune is most likely not to blame.

How many miles have you driven since you tuned the car? Check all of the connections on the intake including the orientation of the MAF in the Intake. Yes there is a right and wrong way to mount it.

Could even be a bad O2 sensor or jacked up spark plug.

As others have said, yes the light and code will return if the problem still persists. You'll need to do this first to find out if it's a legitimate problem, or was just a fluke. You will also need to drive the car for a little bit too for the light to come back on. Don't expect the light to immediately come back on when you first restart the car.

You may be correct. But it's common when the weather changes to very cool temps for the tune to be effected in a negative way.

The code will come off when the problem is fixed or the code is cleared with the tuner. If the code is cleared with the tuner and the problem is not fixed, the code comes back.
