Default Coolant leak. Is this my culprit?

First and foremost, happy new year! I hope the beginning of the year has been great so far!

It's been a while since I've been on here! I have been really busy with school (about to graduate!), and I made the decision to stay as far away as possible from you guys on the forum just so I won't be tempted to spend money on mods for the pony (broke college student problems). :P

Anyway, on to the issue at hand. To keep things short and simple, last week I took my car to the Ford dealership to get the Works done like I do once or twice a year. After they were done I was given the quick run around: battery is ok, fluids have been filled, etc. One problem though, I was told there was a coolant leak. I was quoted around $450 to fix it, to which I replied with a loud hahahaha and left. Ok, the laughing part didn't happen.

But anyway, a quick search showed that it is a common problem for us 4.0 V6'rs to have a coolant leak, specifically in the thermostat housing. I checked it today and think I have found it, just want a confirmation from you guys.

That would be the infamous split thermostat housing.

Replace it with the aluminum one. It is hit or miss on how long the plastic one lasts.
