Tie Rods failing

Tie Rods failing
Hey guys,
So my 2007 GT with 70k miles just went into the shop, and the guys said all my tire rods need to be replaced and an alignment needs to be done. They are quoting me about $800 for everything. Anyone had this done? That price sound right? Should I get aftermarket tire rods?
Thanks!

I agree, get a second opinion. That price seems high to me. Figuring a front wheel alignment should run between $50-$70 (at least in my area), $700+ for parts and labor on the tie rod ends seems high.
Can you replace the tie rods yourself, and just take it somewhere to get aligned?

Okay, Thanks everyone!
So they called today. It is the inner and outer tire rod ends for the front of the vehicle only.
$700 includes the part swap and the alignment.
Too much? This is too high isn't it?

I would say it still sounds a little high. Not as bad knowing that it's both inner and outer. Dealerships are always on the high side.
I'm assuming this is not work you can do yourself? That would save the most money.
I'd still call a few local shops to compare pricing. Can't hurt.
