oil change time

oil change time
So I'm getting close to the recommended 7500 mile oil change. I used to go to whatever service station has the best sale, but got a letter from the local Ford dealership for a 9000 mile service that includes synthetic blend oil for about $40. I guess that's not too bad, but I thought we were supposed to use full synthetic? Also any advantages in going to a Ford service station?

There is no beneift going to the ford dealer for an oil change
Also, looking at the ford manual it says 5w20(4.6) or 5w30(4.0), does not mention synthetic.
You can check your manual as well, page 196 on the below manual

I have mine done at the dealer for peace of mind, they use synthetic blend Motocraft oil. I pay 39.95, for "the works" package, this includes rotating the tires and some other things. I will spend the extra money, so I dont have to deal with the headache of getting rid of used oil. I wont go to one of those oil changing chains because they had a 19.95 special, after they forgot to put new oil in my buddies vehicle and ruin his motor. It took him a while to get that sorted out.

As Tac2cul mentioned, there really is no benefit of going to as opposed to any other shop (Although nothing beats doing it yourself as you can first hand see whats going in and coming out of your car). Although there is no mention of it in the manual, syn-blend is gonna be better for your engine and last longer than conventional oil. With that said, full synthetic is probably best. I've ran nothing but full-syn in both Mustangs I've owned without any issues

I'd avoid the dealership for the reason of "Time" they take an hour or more. I have a lube shop I have used for 6 years & am happy with 20-30 mins tops. I use royal purple, or redline when I can find it for a decent price, Castrol Edge or Valvoline synthetic and I use 1 qt of Lucas stabilizer every change.
