Default Red Fluid Leak near the P/S rack?

Twice in the last month my car has left a red puddle on the floor. It seems to drip from near the back of the P/S rack area. It's hard to see there.

Car is a 2013 v6 manual trans with performance package. What is the problem?

Red fluid can be tranny fluid and possibly coolant, depending on what's in the radiator from the factory.

Since you have a manual tranny and the red fluid is appearing at the front, it's likely to be coming from the power steering system.
Your car is still under warranty so take it to the stealership right away to get it sorted. If you delay, the problem might get worse and if it then becomes more expensive to repair, the stealership might ask you to bear some of the cost.

The EPS rack has fluid inside it?

Looks like where ever it's coming from is dripping right on top of the rack.

Just noticed the coolant reservoir is low and there is rusty crud all stuck to the walls. So I guess it's an intermittent coolant leak on the bottom of the engine. I just can't see where it's coming from. I am going to add some coolant and take it to the dealer tomorrow.

2011 and newer use electronic assist, there is no hydrolic fluid in the power steering.

The only fluids are radiator, brakes, engine and wind shield washers.

the coolant is pink, if you stick your finger in it and taste it, it should be slightly sweet (thats what she said)

if it was power steering fluid then the viscosity would be thicker than coolant. but i don't think our cars have any power steering fluid in them.

my guess would be water pump leaking coolant down the timing cover onto the rack.
feel under the water pump pulley and see if you get coolant on your hand

Thanks, I think that's it. It was just really hard to see. And now that I have improved my searches it appears that this is common on the +11 v6's.

Another day at the shop for my new, reliable, car.

Didn't know that. Thanks for that bit of info.

That does sound likely, though I'd also check around the thermostat water neck and the lower radiator hoses for possible leaks.

Final verdict for closure's sake...

REFERRED TO TSB 14-0212, REPLACED WATER PUMP, SEALS, AND THERM HOUSING TO DEGAS HOSE RECHECK AND VERIFIED AS PER TSB 14-0212

Took an extra day to order that hose. Haven't been home yet to see all the new damage caused by the dealer monkeys.
