Go with 18's, i have 19's currently and wished i had gotten 18's and a thicker tire. the smaller the wheel, the quicker you'll be; less effort for your engine to get you up to speed due to the smaller revolution; plus, having a six, you don't want to sacrifice any more power as it is

I love the white on black look.
I don't think you can really go wrong with anything in the 18-20" range on an S197. I run a 20x10" in the rear wrapped in a 305 tire and love it!
That being said, you do make a valid point and it all comes down to personal preference.
