Default upgraded to 19" used wheels and car is unstable help!!!!

I replaced my stock 17" wheels with the gt premium 19" now the car feels like it pulls and is unstable. I replaced the back 2 tires because they were slick. the front 2 were in great shape. what could cause this problem? could it be out of alignment and the lower profile tires amplify the problem? thanks for any input.

Lower profile tires have less deflection, and amplify imperfections in the road.

What tire pressure are you running?

You might have the alignment checked, see if it helps.

You might also want to get the tires balanced by a shop that does road force balancing.

They should definitely be balanced and check your alignment. As has been said, 19" and 20" rims have a much shorter sidewall and do not offer a nice smooth ride like you are used to. You've got to take the good with the bad.

Is it a steady pull in the same direction or is it more like twitchiness where it seems like it would rather go either way rather than straight?

Did you do anything else besides swap the wheels and tires?

It may be that the new wheels and tires have made the car a little too responsive to steering for what you are accustomed to, and you're overcorrecting with the slight steering inputs that are sometimes necessary. If this is the case, you'll adapt to it.

are the new tires much wider than the old? Wider tires will follow imperfections in the road and pull to the side more than narrower ones.

Also did you replace the rear tires with the same brand and tread pattern as the front ones? That would also make a difference.
