Just a quick history lesson on my car. It was a V6 now its a V8. I swapped the engine for a 06 engine. Everything worked fine for about a year. Then it started throwing a throttle position sensor code. I replaced it though that was it. Now I have replaced it I think 4 times and it keeps messing up so I know there is a underlying cause.

It will run fine for a bit then hit limp mode and have no power at all. If I lay into the throttle some it usually will rev some then go straight to limp mode.

I was thinking that it might be the alternator I know people say they do wierd stuff on these cars when they are on the way out and the problem is getting more frequent. I couldn't tell you if its the factory alternator but it looks to be. You

Also to get it out of limp mode I have to pull over cut the car off and turn it back on because it has no throttle what so ever

it is setting a code, check the code and post it here, without it how can you know where to begin?

Whoa. Also, you need to provide a little more info. Is it an automatic, or manual? What tune do you have (a stock tune for your cpm or a custom tune), as well as any other modifications to the v8?

The alternator is typically the cause of a P0340 code and related misfire codes, NOT the cause of TPS codes.

And +1, post up the code(s). We'll be able to help a lot more that way!

Well it will be a while before I can get the codes but as soon as I do I will post up

ok so I got codes the other day and here is the story behind them

I have the car stored about 2.5 hours away from where I currently live, whole new story, anyway since I have been able to the last few times I got to go down where my car is I have had it running. Also it was warm outside


So this time I go down the battery is good starts right up, drive it, punch it, drive it some more, get the codes cleared and drive and punch it some more.

Never one time threw another code or went into limp mode so at this point I dont know what to think

Here are the codes I got

P2101
P2104
P2110
P2111
P2112
P2135

There were 12 in all but they were these codes repeating

To answer some other questions up top

Its a Manual with the stock GT tune out of the same car the motor came from only mod it has is a aftermarket catback
system

Those are throttle-body related codes. Common failures on the motor/sensor. May also need cleaning to prevent sticking.

I have replaced the throttle position sensor a bunch of times I have cleaned the throttle body. Not the best I am sure but it was cleaned. So the only thing I can think of now is the motor is messing up
