New Edelbrock SC - Should I get custom tune?
#12
Looking at the posts I see only one from someone who has the same supercharger as the OP and ran an email tune for a couple years from Brenspeed with no problems whatsoever. Of course, if OP wants every last bit out of the motor, and can afford the $400-600 to have Brent put it on the dyno, by all means he should do it. But if he can't afford the dyno, its not game over...Brent's email tunes for this type of supercharger are around 98% spot on anyway. He knows what PID values work with the E-Force in all sorts of combos.

I think you will be happy either way. It's an interesting process to data log the car. A bit intimidating, but both of those companies can walk you through it. Then they will email you the new tune and you are all set.

Ended up going with vmp. Really happy with results. Took a few iterations with data logs but once you done it once no big deal. When I first installed sc was disappointed but with tune it has power I was hoping for. Justin from vmp was very helpful. 300 well spent.

I used to have an 2007 GT automatic with a Saleen supercharger and ordered a tune from JDM and it ran great. The only problem was I went through 3 transmissions before I sold the car. Those transmissions do not hold up.
