Bought a 2012 and mine also has it on the front lip on each side above the headlights.

Default Same for me!

Recently picked up a 2012 with 37,000 miles. Was not aware of this issue until I brought it home started detailing it and BAM, there it was! So disappointing! I took it to the dealer and they said I'm out of luck because I'm just over the warranty. I called and emailed Ford and they told me that corrosion is only covered when the rust has made holes. I would have never bought the car had I know any of this... If anyone can offer any other advice, I would really appreciate it!

Add me to the list! Paint is bubbling on the lower-lip of my 2014, about the size of a finger nail. I took it to the dealership today and explained my situation. Without looking at it, the service rep said that Ford will not do anything until the paint begins to pit. He has submitted several of these complaints for repair or replacement and they have all been rejected. Sounds inconsistent as I've read on this forum that some folks have received replacement hoods. I insisted that he take pictures of the corrosion and submit a service ticket. He took several pictures, but it's hard to see since the car is black. Fingers crossed! Warranty expires October of 2014, but what happens if it doesn't pit by then? This is my fifth Mustang, they better resolve this issue!

What they told you was 100% false. Mine was approved the very next day and I received a new hood from Ford. I see you are from northern Virginia as well, take it to Koons in Sterling.

Figures, sounds like each dealership has a different answer for this issue. Will wait and see what mine says.

*Update* Dealership called me this morning regarding the hood corrosion, they're going to replace my hood. In addition to what I pointed out, they found more areas that were corroded. I'm happy!
