What's the biggest tire I can on my base 16" wheels
Well it's new tire time for my 06 S197. It's a base V6 with the stock 16 inch wheels. I would like to go with bigger tires. I just put 245/50/16s on my 88 GT that has stock Pony wheels. I like that size. Will that size work on my 06?

My buddy had some mickey thompson drag radials that were 255/50/16 laying around. So we got them mounted on the stock wheels. They fit perfectly on the stock 16s. He runs high 12s with them too. Cuts 1.8s 60 foots.

Thanks for that info. I like that size tire, but now. Yesterday at the local auto swap meet. I scored a nice set of 17" S197 Bullitt wheels for $100. It has 235/55/17s on them but they are shot. So now I am shopping for tire for those wheels instead. I have wanted a set of these ever since I bought my S197.
