Default 2005 GT Exhaust (which sounds best)

Hey all. I am getting tired of the raspyness of my exhaust on my 2005 GT. I have stock mufflers with a off road X pipe. I love the under full trottle noise but once I let off it is crappy sounding.

I used to have a 95 GT 5L that sounded mean. Flowmasters and H pipe

I know the 4.6L do not have the same sound but what do you guys recommend I do?

I am looking for the deepest sound I can get. Loud is not the issue I want deep and no raspyness when I let off the gas. Just that mean grumble

Thanks

Your offroad x pipe is the culprit, I'd consider an H pipe.

I have a 2010 and am running a h pipe with borla mufflers. Very good sound in my opinion. One of the closest to the foxbody era...lol.... I get many compliments when driving and starting up. Also heard some rousch exhausts on youtube and they appear to have a good quality sound.

I had an x pipe for awhile, never really cared for the sound of it. H pipe is the way to go.

Do you all not think the stock mufflers could be the issue?

I love the on the gas sound. it is when i let off the gas where it sucks. It goes all crackly like a ricer car.

My X pipe is new which will suck to have to throw it away....

It's the x pipe. Craigslist , sell it. Putting on any other axle back will most likey enhance the raspiness. Stock mufflers do the most to quiet it down. You could cut in some mid mounted resonators, that would clean up the tone and deepen it as well.

Roush off road axle backs, with the H-pipe.

Default ford racing or roush

I had ford racing on my 06 gt and loved them. I now have roush on my 12 gt and like them very much. I thing ford racing is the best but the cost is greater. Bang for your buck roush.
